seriously, until tonight I had no idea what that commercial was about. the American version edited out all the plot points explaining what's going on. so stupid

I figured the baby was afraid of the dog, but not the lion so they dressed the dog like a lion so the baby would not be scared.

it makes complete sense...baby is scared of dog. dog is sad and wants to play with baby. baby likes lion toy. father of baby buys lion costume to confuse baby into thinking dog is a lion....dog can now play with baby...he used Amazon one click ordering to make it faster.

maybe they have been showing the full version in the US and just never saw it. but the version I keep seeing on tv is only 30 seconds long and it doesn't show the baby being scared of the dog. it just shows the dog not wanting to enter the room. and then getting the lion costume and then the baby petting the dog.
