saving plot device shows up. where like they die and then 2 seconds later someone or something shows up or happens to rescue everyone. there was this syfy movie I saw once where a girl got eaten by a snow shark literally a second before the curse got lifted and the sharks all fell apart or whatever. if the person breaking the curse had just been slightly faster....she wouldn't have died.

and in the 2nd to last episode of Game of Thrones this season, that one guy fell into the mass of zombies right before Danny's dragons showed up. sucks for that guy
