I believe there is probably life out there somewhere. After all, there's life here so it's a definite possibility for it develop elsewhere. I just don't know if I believe there are any already visiting Earth. It's certainly interesting to think about though.

^^^ to be honest, that update is a bit meaningless. Look at the Mariana trench; it wasn't conditioned to support life by our standards but there's life down there alright

Saying, "we don't know that it doesn't exist, means it could still exist!" is kind of a silly argument, you know that, right?
The same way I can claim that the world is full of invisible pink elephants and then if someone says, "no that's dumb" I can claim "we don't know that it doesn't exist!".

Also, anaerobic life exists outside of the Mariana Tench, so it's not really that surprising, don't get me wrong, it's cool, but not "oh my god the world has changed from where we knew it from before!". It was first really discovered in 1913 by Martinus Beijerinck.
