Had an experience last night where the store rep tried to sell me a plan for $160 a month when it's only $120 a month online. I showed the page to him right there and asked what was up with the discrepancy and he had nothing for me

It might have been an online only offer. As a previous salesperson, those are very annoying.

Yesterday trying to get internet rep telling me I needed the 150mb/s package for streaming Netflix, told me the $20 package was not available in my apartment complex despite me being mailed the offer and online saying it was available at my complex, etc.

did it with RCN. been with them for 3 years, figured okay, lemme see what speed/costs exist here, and sure enough i see a 1.5x faster speed at a $20 discount as its final cost. took a good 10 minutes to get it, she kept saying how it's a promotion but after repeatedly saying the promotion is for $35 and the final cost is $55, she finally "understood," got the manager, and cheaper bill for better speed get.

He started pushing the fact that I could get a discounted IPad with the deal in store but I wouldn't be able to online. I reiterated to him that I just wanted to get my wife's phone and the cheapest plan possible that gets me 10 GB a month. At the point I told him that it's just not working and that I would be purchasing the plan online instead.


Which I did. I also got a government employee discount which he failed to mention as well.

You also don't want to fuck over your customers to the point where they won't come back. I was in sales and I always strived to get my customers the best deal. This earned their loyalty and they would always come back to me. Have to play the long game
