They can literally take the most obscure character, give it to the most mediocre director, and still produce a really great (and blockbuster...like every time) movie.

They really control so much and make sure every detail is good. This past "phase" of movies has been the best yet without a doubt.

The only downside is that the more original and independent directors, like Edgar Wright and Joss Whedon, feel the pressure of the producers down the back of their necks and they hate it. That's why they both pushed away from this giant franchise.

That being said, someone like James Gunn can still come in and make a deeply original and personal movie with not a whole lot of interference. Don't know how that happened. Maybe it's because he was working with the most obscure group so far

Back when the originals Avengers came out, I wasn't a big fan of any of the movies at all. But I loved Joss Whedon. So I went to see Avengers and loved it.

Then a couple more duds came out, like Thor 2 and Iron Man 3. But since then; Captain America 2 and 3 were amazing, Avengers 2 was amazing, Guardians of the Galaxy 1-2 are some of the best yet, and I really liked Doctor Strange and Spider-Man. And Ant Man wasn't bad. There hasn't been a bad one in a long while

Marvel knows how to market their movies and they have a good vision for the future for their characters. Plus, I think the people writing these movies and series are legitimate fans of the source material and do their best to translate that passion to the screen.
