Living in Minnesota as a KC fan is a pain in the ass because the games get blacked out whenever the two play each other (which, being in the same division, is like, all the time). RIP watching via Xbox on the TV and hello poor-quality streams on my computer

Maybe I should find a long-ass HDMI cable so I can put the stream on TV like I normally do

The Timberwolves traded Ricky Rubio to Utah. The team just got a lot less handsome.

I don't understand this trade, but then again I don't know anything about basketball. A bunch of people have seemed to always hate Rubio so I guess they got what they wanted

I don't mean to accidentally compliment Minnesota here but it would be a bit of a bummer to get traded to Utah. Also I had to reset my PS4 to factory default settings today and it wiped my saves, which is cool. I guess that's my penance for cancelling PS+ (they charge for cloud saves)

Diamondbacks need to win to legitimize themselves in the race. Rockies need to win to stop their skid. Should be a good game.

You could have copied them through USB. I would be much less calm than you are if all my saves were gone.

I can't even get excited for NBA trades and thinking about the different matchups when the end result is, "Can they beat Golden State?" -> "No"

To be honest I wasn't even thinking about it getting rid of my saves for some reason. It wouldn't get out of safe mode no matter how many times I tried to reboot so I just picked that on the option list. I don't know if I could have copied those files from safe mode anyway, but maybe I could have. Doesn't matter now either way.

Anyway, it does suck pretty bad but it's not a gigantic loss either since I didn't have too much in the way of "current" progress in games... I think anyway. Also I got my "GOD DAMN IT!" out of the way and calmed myself down before posting that. The really irritating bit was that I was about to start the last chapter in Danganronpa 2 today and that file was of course wiped as well. I just watched the last chapter on YouTube because I was for sure not gonna replay all that so soon.

I know that nobody is beating Golden State, but I just want to see the Nuggets return to the playoffs, and many of these trades haven't helped that, so I'm interested in what happens. This one stings less since the Thunder were already a playoff team, but I just can't help but think (again) that the Nuggets would have easily had expendable assets for this one

Snark aside, last night the Rockies got six innings and 10 K's out of Jon Gray. Dude just comes off the DL and has his best game of the (admittedly limited) season. It wasn't a super dominant game, but seeing the strikeouts come back is encouraging.

On a side note, starting today, now you can buy beer/liquor on Sundays in MN! no more buying beer in advance before sundays or having to go to wisconsin to ensure you're blackout drunk after the vikings lose!

nope, liquor stores were required by law to be closed on sundays. Also, you could not (and still can't, I believe) buy liquor or "real" beer at gas stations/grocery stores...only actual liquor stores can sell. You can buy beer at gas stations/grocery stores, but only 3.2% alcohol beer, so there's really no point in buying it.

The alcohol laws of Missouri are among the most permissive in the United States.[1] Missouri is known throughout the Midwest for its largely laissez-faire approach to alcohol regulation, in sharp contrast to the very strict alcohol laws of some of its neighbors, like Kansas and Oklahoma.

Colorado is basically the same but we can buy from liquor stores on Sundays

I think they passed something to sell higher percentage beer in groceries but I don't know when it goes into effect

in CO can stores sell the everclear that's like 99% alcohol? in MN, only the 75% stuff can be sold. you have to go to sconnie to get the real everclear.

funny anecdote: in college, my friend drank some wisconsin everclear, and then he fell down some stairs and had to get stitches on his face lol

Once I got into an argument with my brazilian friend about how many continents there are. I pulled up the wikipedia page that says there are 7, and he used that "anyone can edit wikipedia" line on me (completely serious). It was the most infuriating thing that's ever happened to me and I've been using the line ever since.

I learned the other day that Bowling for Soup did a cover of Stacy's Mom cause I was in a restaurant when they were doing trivia and they played it for a "name the artist" question.
