Every time I think about the game I appreciate it more and more . I had to put it back in just to explore the world some more. I also think Aloy is the best new VG character we have gotten in a long time.

I enjoyed it a lot, but when I got to the big city area I got a bit overwhelmed by choice and ended up putting it down about an hour later after a mission at a dig site.

I'm about halfway through it right now - just got to Meridian and am at 49.95% completion.

I am absolutely loving it.

My only real complaint is that while the NPCs have largely been great, they feel insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Hoping the second half of the game changes my feelings on this.

I would say that definitely changes around 75% in. They take a more pivotal role.

Yes. Holy shit. It was amazing. Not just the story, but the main character and her representation of a strong woman is amazing. There are so many amazing POC characters. The story doesn't revolve around a quest for fucking romance. It looks super pretty on my 4k TV, too.

I know Digi also enjoyed it a lot. He beat the game a while ago so he helped me out when I was stuck on stuff. Some of the enemies are fucking mystifying if you're not well equipped haha

I fucking love Horizon. It took me a minute to get into, especially since I don't care for open world games in general. Once I got into it, I couldn't stop playing. I fell in love with the world and the gameplay and I often found myself getting lost just hunting robots without any mission going on.

Announced DLC for Horizon was the best thing about E3.

I can get that. Thankfully, I was just so grateful over the way Aloy's character was handled that I was able to look past that.

It intrigues me a bit but I'm pretty burnt out on these open world type games. Just seems the same as all the others.

Convince me that if I've played the witcher 3, that this is different enough to not feel like more of the same?

The parts that really got me were ... The general explaining what operation enduring victory was, and the talk of taking a pill or dying on your feet and The alphas at the table talking about the malfunctioning seal and the realization that Sobeck went out on her own to fix it and the deletion of Apollo

I didn't have any story expectations either, as I care more about gameplay. But about halfway through the game or so, when the story really started to pick up, I found myself completely engrossed by the narrative. It was so wonderfully told.

The final battle was a little lame, but I can forgive it because everything else leading up to it was phenomenal.

Nah. That wasn't up to him. his guilt over fucking up so badly he caused the apocalypse doesn't mean everyone else doesn't get to learn. Even the thought of denying knowledge because it doesn't sit well with you (the collective you, not you personally) is disturbing.

Something about Apollo didn't sit right with me. Let the new humanity create and learn and develop on its own.

I can't trust the intelligentsia with curating all of human knowledge. Letting an elite class shape an entire culture is gross.

Good riddance to Apollo. Best thing Ted ever did. I can't see why anyone would get weepy over its destruction

I played a bit. I enjoyed it, but I stopped playing and haven't been back. That's the way it's gone for a lot of games recently.

I completely disagree about Apollo. It wasn't his decision to make, even if he disagreed. Some of the brightest minds in the history of humanity designed and created Apollo. And all of those minds were NOT responsible for the death of mankind. Ted was. He lost his seat at that particular table when he became responsible for the deaths of billions.

Oh, I agree he is a well written and executed antagonist. It's been a while since I've seen an antagonist that I absolutely hate. But still, fuck him.
