I love that I can just plop it in the living or bedroom at my leisure now. Good move on Nintendo to sell the dock alone.

it's not a matter of it being high quality -- it's a piece of plastic that sends a digital signal that cannot be improved or reduced by the quality of cable used. it's always the same signal. that dock probably costs then pennies to make. you can buy a USB Type C to HDMI cable for less than 3 bucks, but Nintendo made it so those don't work arbitrarily so they could sell their 90 dollar dock

There's a mini dock from like Nyko I think coming for about half what Nintendo's charging. It doesn't include the usb ports to charge a pro controller but for half the price whatever
