it's perfectly normal and healthy, it's just a game, just a simulation, there's no way violent and gory media of any type can affect kids in any way whatsoever.

i'd honestly look into cable TV news as a source for what is making these kids so aggressive and violent and not the murder sims they play in their free time, as I said before video games have absolutely no affect on a human psyche, they are the one form of stimulus on mother earth that are above all suspicion

Sometimes it's artistically gory.

Watch Hannibal. Every scene is a work of art

Depends on the type of media and how the gore is used. It could be appreciating the attention to detail and effects that bring out the 'holy shit!' moments (The Thing, Rambo 2008), enjoying the absurdity of a spectacle (Braindead, Mortal Kombat), having a message or disturbing narrative hit a lot harder (Spec Ops:The Line, Outlast) or sometimes it just makes things look a bit cooler (Ninja Assassin, God of War). Gore in media is just as much an artistic tool as anything else.

True enough. Spec Ops the Line actually did use it effectively.

Honestly, people who are really into these seem more threatening and dangerous than people into things like mlp and lolis.
Which is all the more scarier that these are more socially acceptable.

I'm in a weird position where I have a harder time watching stuff like Jurassic Park: TLW than I did when I was eight and watched them every day.
