Its really interesting to see what they changed

off the top of my head


One of Jotaro's groupies is the one that gets possessed by Hierophant Green instead of the Nurse. Also the fight takes place in that same park or whatever where Jotaro fell down the stairs, it never takes place inside the school

Avdol is the one that destroyed Kakyoin's fleshbud
I guess they didn't really bother trying to explain Hamon to the new viewers (though it came back during the Dio fight)

Also, Kakyoin's hair is black

They ID a fly in the photo, but its not the Nile Ue Ue Fly, its another fly thats indigenous to the Egypt, so they don't know Dio is specifically in Cairo

They do not take a commercial plane to Egypt, they take a personal plane piloted by 2 speed wagon personnel which is sabotaged by Dio's men. So no Tower of Grey


Polnareff and the Orangutan attack the crew at the same time. They board the ship and Polnareff greets them in the dining room with a table full of food.

THEN after he loses, its revealed Strength is a stand user. While Jotaro still uses Star Finger on him, it wasn't enough and he almost crushes Jotaro to death but POLNAREFF slices Strength in half, killing him. This solidifies his turn.

Oh, and Polnareff never had a flesh bud on him. Also Anne, the runaway girl, never joins them either

In the flashback scene when they'll talking about Pol's sister, the friend dies in the scene. So its not really known how Pol knows about all of the details

Most of the Hol Horse and J.Geil stuff is the same, but I watched the dub and they still called him J. Geil. The english subs changed his name to Centerfold in the current anime. While the girl that Empress was disguising as is still there and still saves Hol Horse, shes never revealed to be Empress. She disappears after everything happens

They visit Avdol's "grave". Probably to trick Pol even further >___>
I never liked that they did that.

OH, I forgot to mention, Enyaba IS YOUNG AND SMOKIN HAWT

.....until they reveal its a disguise. But still, that was a crazy change
She reverts to her old self when she pretends to run that hotel.

as a matter of fact, she revealed her young and old self to the crew at separate times, so they did not believe the two entities were the same person, so Jotaro pulled out that "Nose Vein" trick here, since they never got on that boat and fought that Captain.
Avdol arrives during this fight and saves Pol from an attack. So no Cameo fight on that remote island

They bypass Steely Dan by having the fleshbud kill Enyaba immediately after her defeat.

NDool is mostly the same, but they prolonged the fight by adding a few things here and there.


Darby is mostly the same but Iggy was spectating the whole thing too, though they only cut to his reactions like twice. With that said, Darby, while in his stupor, HES the one that reveals that Dio is in Cairo. He kinda made good on his word! He also says that Dio is holed up in a whorehouse. Which might explain the bitches. but thats all they were able to get out of him

They make it to Cairo but no Pet Shop. They make it to the mansion.

No Pet Shop. Also they never establish Iggy has an inner monologue, also, he stays "Ugly" the entire time.

They are NOT met with Younger Darby, No Kenny G, no Nukesaku either. they just go in and walk up to Dio's Coffin. All 6 of them

When they open it, THEY FIND AVDOL in the Coffin!
Hes been stabbed. Avdol was able to surmise what Dio's secret was but before he can say it, while still in the coffin, he pushes Pol out of the way and then Vanilla Ice obliterates him.

Once Vanilla Ice Appears, Dio asks him to do the self head cutting thing infront of the main characters. After he resurrects him, Dio then extends an invitation for Pol AND Iggy to join his side

He refuses and Dio sics Vanilla on him. Vanilla vaporizes the ground beneath him and they get separated from the rest of the group. Iggy follows them down the hole.

They land in a water area where theres a fountain. Pol loses his foot immediately after.
Pol gets wounded pretty badly while trying to dodge vanilla ice, but then Iggy delivers a sucker punch to VI.
IMMEDIATELY afterwards, when Polnareff is thanking Iggy, Vanilla Ice comes from the ground and vaporizes Iggy's bottom half. THIS is how he dies here.
Then Pol cuts Vanilla's head in half and THATS how HE dies.


While all of that is happening, Jotaro, Joseph, and Kakyoin are dealing with Dio. Dio does the Stair thing to Jotaro (only once though)
He then punches Jotaro out of the building where he flies like a mile away
Joseph is just PARALYZED with fear but Kakyoin saves him and they both get a random truck out of nowhere and just jet

Everything from here on out is about the same, but they show that Jotaro survived, and show him giving himself a splint for his broken ribs

Kakyoin bites it, gives Joseph the final message, blah blah blah

Jotaro arrives at the scene and heres a difference. All of Dio's knives came from that restaurant they were near.

And when jotaro gets stabbed, its his splint that saves him, not because he stuffed his jacket with random magazines.
And when hes playing Dead, Polnareff still delivers the sneak attack. Instead of Dio blowing him away, Jotaro actually punches Dio's head while the sword is still in his brains. Polnareff can't continue because his vanilla wounds caught up to him, but he tells Jotaro Iggy didn't make it.

and this is the worst change of all

THERES NO ROADA ROLLER DAAAAAA

Its a fucking Oil Tanker.

They off handedly mention that they saved Joseph with a blood transplant. and they drop Dio from a plane over the ocean while the sun is out.



The show is okay. Its a bit flaccid at times, alot of the scenes lack impact. There are times where certain segments would benefit from a really good score but they don't have any music at at all. But I still liked it

so yea, it was fun picking these out. I watched the OVA because I actually own a production sketch and an animation cel from this show and I wanted to see if I could pin point the frames. (I did)

After Enya died, it really gave off the vibe that it "ended"
