Just tell them that you're a sovereign citizen and they have no jurisdiction over you. Also record them.

I don't think so but it would be a whole lot less of a hassle if you just showed them.

I mean if you don't they could arrest you for driving without a license and pissing off someone who can decide if you get a large fine seems like a bad idea.

But that's just one theory.

You're required to be able to provide identification. Doesn't have to be a driver's license, but just know that "failure to produce a driver's license" during a traffic violation is a crime on its own. So if you leave your license at home and get pulled over, you'll get a ticket for that if nothing else.

We have seven days to produce documents in UK at least.

They can look you up from the computer with your full name and DOB, but they can still ticket you for not having a license on you. I was once pulled over with only my student ID on me. The cops were annoyed but didn't end up ticketing me after they looked me up

Obviously a cop can just choose to not ticket you for whatever reason, but strictly speaking, driving without your license physically on your person (or at least inside the car) is an infraction.

If they pull you over for a legitimate reason (any traffic infraction) you are required to show ID, proof of insurance and registration. If you don't and refuse to identify yourself they can hold you as long as it takes to figure out who you are.

There isn't one. It doesn't work. And if it did work there would be some nasty implications. Like instead of getting a ticket for speeding you get thrown in prison for espionage.

"Not being required to provide identification" is by far the dumbest, pettiest libertarian platform.

I can't even imagine a single reason anyone could care whether police know their name, unless I guess they're this decade's Babyface Nelson.

As soon as you see the flashing lights it's best to wait about 47 miles before you find a safe place to retire your car. Make sure you tense up and start shaking. It lets them know you're alert. I've seen enough episodes of COPS to know this is how it's done.
