He gave me some sob story about needing extra money because he needed to buy his moms medicine and I go through them and tell him I can't take them he says I am disrespecting him because of his story and it gets a little heated, I call the owner and fill him in on the situation and he asks for the guys name, my boss just shouts "what the fuck is his problem" The exact same guy got arrested at our other stores location a few weeks ago for stealing a copy of Horizon and had some drugs on him when they arrested him.

Had a similar thing happen back when I worked at Blockbuster years back.

This guy comes in and brings up a ps3 controller to the counter and the box has been all fucked up and partially opened. Without me saying anything about it he gets defensive and says that he just found it that way, but that also he wants to open it up so he can take a look at it. I explained to him that I can't open things like that because then we can't sell them.

He says ok and tells me he wants to pay with a gift card, sets one on the counter, then says he has to be right back and leaves. He forgot his card so I set it aside and after repairing the packaging as best I could I go to place the controller back. When I get to that section I find a crumbled up piece of cardboard that is one of the backings to one of our gift cards. I figure the weirdo must have just pulled one off the shelf, and when I got back to the register I scanned the balance and sure enough it was $0.00, the thing had never been activated.

The guy comes back and brings a couple things up(no controller this time) and says he wants to use that gift card. I told him it wasn't an active card and he accused me of stealing the money off of it. I was not in the mood to deal with a crazy guy so I told him flat out that it wasn't true and that he needed to leave the store or I was gonna call the cops. He left but not before scolding me and telling me that I was unfairly judging him for his appearance.

Crazy people suck when you work retail.

Dealing with burnouts is the worst because they're all liars and they're generally very annoying.

Her fault for raising someone dumb enough trying to sell to the other or two locations of a store he stole something from.

Though to be fair, from the sounds of it she can't be a real winner if this is what she produced and let loose upon the earth. I bet she spends all her welfare money on lotto tickets and cigarettes.

The worst people to deal with are the very extreme ends of the spectrum of wealth.

The very poor will scrap and claw for every little thing and are generally desperate.

The very rich got that way by being nitpicking skinflints, so they will argue over dumb stuff as well.
(nothing like seeing a guy who says he makes six figures getting upset about a $1.50 late rental return fee)

Agree 100%

I delivered pizza for about a month (dream job) and the shittiest tips I received were from the $1M+ houses. When I worked at EB, there were the people that would beg and try to sob story you about being broke. They both sucked and I hated them all.
