in my head "he is cute, but I am extremely concerned about dealing with his parents when it's hard even with christians sometimes"

i would totally date a muslim gay guy. don't think about family now, that's like 6 months to a year into the relationship that you should start worrying about that

i'm a black guy dating a white guy and i get some weird comments from his family. his gran said i am arabic because i have a beard, and his mum questioned if i have a normal christmas coz i'm caribbean

it's all cool though, it's innocent and i kinda like the different culture

yes, religion and many people that follow it don't always use logic and will do or say things to justify their own personal beliefs....that's just the truth.

think of it this way, you were born and raised in a religion that made you fear god, Christian, Muslim, whatever. Your family is extremely religious..Your religion says don't be gay....but unfortunately (to them) you are gay. not your fault...But now after realizing that you're struggling with staying true to your religion and yourself, while also trying to appease god (who you were told to listen to or face consequences).....You can't see how someone in that position would play mental gymnastics to still consider themselves as a religious person for God or their family while also trying to act on their own natural urges?

plus if you tell a gay muslim they can't be gay and muslim you run the risk of fucking them up. most gay muslims aren't going to denounce their religion/family/etc. they're gonna think they're a horrible person for being gay and internalize it

You can believe in good all you want, but when your religion wants to kill you it is safe to say you are not part of it any more.

the same applies here...yes "omg so violent they'll be killed!"....yes the level of consequence is much more extreme....But we're trying to explain to you why people would still CONSIDER themselves a member of that religion....

its not that easy for some people to just eliminate a huge part of their life when new information about themselves come to light...And even then, why attack them for it? If they want to help usher in a modern version of Muslim's who don't believe Gays should be killed then so what? Its no different than every other religion out there..
