Does anyone remember that one dude's gimmick like 10 years ago where he'd make topics about "How I'm going to raise my daughter" and talk about making her listen to X music and read Bradbury and shit, and posted pics of Sherri Bemis as what he wanted her to look like?

That was a weird one.

At that age I'd probably be playing kids stuff for them like Disney artists and shit or just top 40 bubblegum pop. At that age all you want is simple beats, clean vocals, simple lyrics, and catchy hooks/choruses. By the time they're old enough to want something better than that they'll be old enough to find their own music. Yeah I'll probably suggest some of my favorites and things I consider you be classics when they're a little older and hope that maybe it does for them what it did for me, but I'm not gonna put stuff on that I like and make them listen to it.

Yes, when they reach a certain age they make their own decisions. The stuff you put on when they are young does have an influence on their music taste though, at least I know it did for me.

If I ever have a kid they're just gonna be a social experiment. I'm gonna make them listen to the crazy bus theme song from day one and see if they grow up to like it.

Maybe my dad was weird then. He specifically taped music videos for us to watch (the first song on the tape is Peter Gabriel "Sledgehammer") and there were always CDs playing or the radio on specific stations.
