Board 8 > When does Season 1 of The Wire get good?

The first four episodes were zzzz... Should I stick with it? Or might this be a case of cop drama just not being my thing?

I'll level with you - most of the storylines set up in the first season don't get resolved until later seasons. That's not necessarily a bad thing - in fact, many consider it to be a strength of the show, that it can weave so many different things together over the course of 5 seasons. That said, it's definitely a slow-moving show and it's not for everybody.

That said, it took me three tries to finally like the show enough to finish it, but when I did it was probably the most satisfying show I'd ever watched.

I remember it getting a lot better in ep 5 or 6. I never really loved the show that much in general.
