The Tiktok ban revealed three things about the the United States.

1. They don't care about free speech
2. They don't care about free trade
3. They care about passing any laws the help their citizens

And that is why they are banning Tiktok.Tiktok is a platform that completely contradicts US propaganda with the truth. Also Tiktok is able to compete and beat out companies such as Meta, Youtube, Amazon and even Google. And that is why they are able to move quickly not because it's the will of the people but because corporations as well as lobbies are telling them to pass this bill.

Those were already revealed a long time ago.

the tiktok 'ban' isn't actually a ban as it could be sold to a non chinese government entity that has to abide by regulations. the chinese government using it to spy on people is a bridge too far.

obviously no social media should be allowed to be as intrusive as they are, but tiktok is demonstrably worse in that regard with no oversight outside of a malicious foreign actor.
