I'm only up to season 4 and it's pretty good, but sometimes I forget that this was airing in the early 2000s and I get hit with something that reminds me of how life used to be back then >_>

Cell phones are rare and when the do pop up, they're the bulky non-flip versions
Richard Lewis had a comedy special and Larry had to work the videotape to watch it or just catch it on HBO at a specific time slot when they aired it.
Jeff has a porn stash of magazines and videotapes hidden behind a fake wall in his closet lol
Larry catches a Girls Gone Wild commercial and orders a physical VHS tape from them.
Larry has to keep track of physical airline tickets and when he lost them, he had to buy new ones
Cheryl literally has a fucking Palm Pilot lol

I do miss the 90s and 2000s, but we've also come a long way in convenience too >_>

I still haven't seen that show but I can only imagine how that was too lol. I don't think social media even existed when that show aired

Television is always so very far behind technology. It took forever for them to adapt to widespread cell phone usage then very much later smartphones. It changes so damn much in terms of writing as most of the tropes are dated af and are based on simple miscommunications that are easily solved by technology.

Even until this day it struggles to depict social media.

Its a fun, junk food sort of show. I think Facebook and Twitter only start getting mentioned in its final two seasons. One episode in the first season features a scene between two characters using iChat with clip-on webcams.

I noticed the same not that long ago when I started re-watching "Shameless", and season 1 only aired 13 years ago.

The amount of movies from the 1980-2000s where you could say "if this happened today, the movie would be 5 minutes long".

Perfect example, Home Alone. Yes, you can say Kevin may have been too young to have a cell phone, but that family was obviously pretty well off, and there's no doubt he would've had an iPad and could've been reached via FaceTime.

I didn't realize the show started in 2000 and ended only this year (with one seven year break) yeah when a show lasts that long
