despite the fact i just got back from a week off and am taking another trip in 2 months

and despite the fact we are about to lose 2 people in my department (i would be the third)

this doesnt feel very viable. what needs to happen is i need to actually find the time to search for a new job more seriously. this is such a shitty position to be in dude im so stressed out

the complaint calls at work have been getting worse too. i got this dude at 4:59 yesterday who opened the call by screaming into his receiver

why are people like this dude

Did you look during your week off? Can you use some of your upcoming time off for job searching?

You should use some of your time off to search for a job that is better for you.

As someone who has had to use FMLA before take it. Listen to your healthcare providers. You will not regret it, and even if it makes things tougher on your employer/coworkers, thats not your fault, and your coworkers will understand.

You dont have to be specific about why you took the leave. Most people wont even ask.

Corporate culture has been hugely successful in convincing employees that they should feel guilt over exercising their rights. Even when their health is at stake. FMLA is your legal entitlement. God knows workers don't have many.

Take what is due to you, knowing full well that the company you work for would not hesitate for a moment to do the same.

Valid concern, that's as much a part of our system as anything else, and it going awry can fuck with most everything.

It's seeming like you have to take the risk with one of these options, what's going now is unsustainable, and it seems like it's doing you some real mental damage.

Why are you taking a trip if your mental health is bad?

FMLA sucks you can't get paid and your bosses have to build a case against you to fire you

Why can't you work and focus on getting better?

This is good advice but TC doesn't understand he won't be paid for the time taken off

It's cheaper to stay at work and lessen your shift load through PTO if possible

I'm someone who had to take FMLA for a serious medical condition and it financially wrecked me. Getting back to work was difficult because you have to then work 2 weeks w/o being paid. Short Term Disability is when you get 60% of your income but it doesn't have the same protections as FMLA
