That PS1 era of blocky graphics looks worse than SNES sprites but it didn't stop me from absolutely loving that game in 1997. Still remains one of my favorite experiences of all time. Back when Squaresoft could do practically no wrong. Pre merger golden days.

Final Fantasy 7 started as a Snes game.
Pretty much only parts of the story was done before everybody got pulled into another project called Chrono Trigger. The story was different, and while some elements survived to the PS1 game, others were used in Chrono Trigger, Parasite Eve and Final Fantasy 8. --- GameFAQs isn't going to be merged in with GameSpot or any other site.
