Not in Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

I was thinking about getting into it. It seems very fun.

I wouldn't want a compound bow or a crossbow though. I feel like the challenge of a recurve would be fun.

It's OK but it's not something I see anyone on CE getting into due to the large conservative percentage in that community.

Most people into archery want to hunt, not learn archery because they think Legolas or Green Arrow are cool.

Looks like crossbows are in same legal category as shooting a firearm, it's a no-go in my backyard.
Compound has its appeal for hunting, where you absolutely do not want to miss and wound an animal

I want as basic as it gets: longbow
A stick and a string, no sights, no fancy wood laminates and modern geometry

I'm answering your question. Are you going to have fun going to an archery range with that crowd? If you can put up with people that have different political values then you're fine. If not, I wouldn't get invested into it. It's like hanging out at a gun shop.

That really depends on the country.

If you do it in the UK, for instance, its done as a sport and very much nothing to do with hunting.

Personally though, I always preferred fencing.

I practice archery, it is a lot of fun and fairly inexpensive. Sometimes I do have to buy new arrows and get them cut to size, but it's not too bad.

Anyways, archery is awesome and also a great work out.

It can be a lot of fun, just remember to not let the string catch your arm as you fire. They sell arm guards but for practice bows just holding your wrist away is unusual enough if like me you are a cheapskate. If you are going for heavy duty bows definitely get the arm guard though.

Oh, don't forget, never dry fire the bow. If you pull back the string you either are firing an arrow or you're gently reducing tension instead of just releasing the string.

If you draw the bow and just release the string without an arrow being fired all the energy goes into the shaft and can seriously damage it even to the point of injuring you.

Archery in the uk

i remember the archery unit was basically the only thing we did in P.E. in high school that i actually enjoyed. i'm not a sports person, but archery was fun. never did it outside of that unit though. i've done some hatchet throwing though. that was pretty fun too.

It's fun. I bought a longbow that has a draw weight of 55 lbs. I live on farmland so I use haybales as my targets
