They look nice, but extremly unnecessary and in my eyes not worth it.

Bias lighting can be very effective for various legitimate reasons in tv application like relieving eye strain and helping with black levels on LCDS that dont have perfect black levels but I would only use it if it was calibrated D65 lighting, not a stupid colored light show.

It'll be the type of thing that looks cool at first, but then it would annoy the hell out of me eventually. Even more so when I'm laying down with all the lights off getting all immersed or whatever the hell into a vidya game or movie and then constantly noticing all that circus light malarkey going on in the back.
