I saw a commercial this morning for some window company that had a price of around $5000 or more for 8 house windows, which is like $625+ per window. Whenever a window is smashed in a TV show, it's always treated like a minor inconvenience. That shit's expensive and is never properly addressed.

Price varies wildly depending on the shape. A standard size rectangular window, even a fairly large one, is like a few hundred bucks. The labor cost to remove and install is probably close to the material cost. But once you get fancy w/ circular, rounded, those giant "gallery" view windows that pop out from the siding, etc... shit gets crazy expensive. Like well into the thousands per window. Even if it's "only" $300 parts and labor b/c it's a basic rectangular window, it still would suck to replace, though. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Not only that, but you still haven't accounted on hiring a Mason guy or carpenter to fix the openings by reinstalling the brick and/or siding. Now you'll have to paint the siding/plaster after spending hundreds on waterproofing the cracks and gaps with either silicone or caulk. --- S / K / Y / N / E ... Copied to Clipboard!

Actually depends on what kind. My old house were old, old. They had the rope pulley in the glide. Considering it was a farm house built in the 30's. I looked into the cost of modernizeing them. It was around. $4000 for 16 Windows. This is also a few years ago. That's not factoring hiring someone to replace. I might have been able to do it my self if I had the time. I built a "Florida Room" addition in the early 2000's. So I might have been able too. Anyway since I moved home. My father discussed replacing his. His is double paned side by side. We looked around and the asking price was $2500 plus what ever the labor was. I think $1200 was the number discussed. Again if I was healthy pretty sure he and I could do it and save that $1200.
