I've always been a fan, but I was surprised years ago to see that he still is ranked so high, even moreso than Michael Jackson, Zep, and Elvis, and only being beaten by The Beatles.
Also pretty funny when anyone outside the US is like "Who??". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highest-certified_music_artists_in_the_United_States --- Brawl FC - 5412-9555-6314 Also known as Toadfan64 ... Copied to Clipboard!

As an avid music fan its always amazed me at the differences in countries. Some artists transcend boundaries and are truly worldwide stars but other artists stay regional. It doesnt surprise me someone like Garth isnt nearly as popular outside the US.
I was literally just having a discussion last night with a friend of mine who is English. He loves Oasis. They are are absolutely huge in the UK. For a decade they were the biggest band. They have sold 75 million copies worldwide. All 7 of their albums went to #1. They have like over 20 songs in the top 10 and tons of #1 songs. I constantly hear about them from various people in the UK when discussing music. Meanwhile in the US What's the Story) Morning Glory? was successful and produced the only two songs that really get recognized here. Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova. Thats it. Massive difference compared to the UK. Same in the 80s with the group Madness that gave us the hit Our House. Its basically a one hit wonder here yet they are massively successful in the UK. Hit after hit, album after album. These differences always fascinate me. There was an artist named Rodrguez who was more successful than Elvis in South America and didnt even know it. I watched an amazing documentary about it. Its called Searching for Sugar Man and is one of the most interesting documentaries Ive ever seen. This guy dropped out of the spotlight in the 70s and basically had no career and was bigger than Elvis in places like South Africa, and was quite popular in Australia, New Zealand. Stuff like this is always amazing. --- PSN ID: sled_dogs76 60" Pioneer Kuro Elite PRO151FD, Yamaha RX-V3900 A/V Receiver, Oppo DV983-H player. Coming soon: 2 Seaton Submersives from Mark Seaton ... People who still cling onto the ignorant 'country music sucks!' mentality get their perception by modern country artists. You need to listen to some older stuff. That being said when it comes to genres: Country>Rap and it's not even remotely close ... Copied to Clipboard!
