Got an infected tooth. The gum area around the tooth is super swollen. The pain was awful and making me feel nauseous. Barely had the strength to get out of bed and walk to the store and buy groceries. Wish I was exaggerating.

But luckily managed to get it under control with ibuprofin to reduce the swelling and clove oil to numb the era. Went from a 7/10 to a 2/10 on the pain meter.

But these are only just temporary solutions to keep the pain from being debilitating

Dentist is booked for a week. Gotta endure this for at least week. Can't even get any access to antibiotics over the counter for some BS reason. Can't afford take off work cause i'm kinda broke.

Fuck tooth pain is no joke. My fault though. I dug myself into this hole with eating too much sugar.

Whats worse is how expensive its going to be to pull the son of a bitch out. Also if it needs pulled youre going to have to make another appointment with an oral surgeon, most dentists wont just pull it

It's a nagging, humbling pain.

Had my trigeminal nerve infected by a wisdom tooth I should've had removed ages ago. I can endure pain pretty well, I think. There's a constant, and you can get used to it. You can push through a shock, you can adapt to the pattern.

This fucker had no pattern. It was a new kind of pain at every moment, staccato, like an angry man adjusting the antennae on an old tv, looking for signal. I was exercising in place of sleeping, to have something to direct the emergency body responses into.

Fortunately, everything resolved after the tooth was removed. But goddamn. The only thing I'd put on par with getting kicked in the sack.

Yep, been dealing with swollen gums and while the pain isn't awful its more on the annoying side myself. I already been to a local dentist last week, but they revealed they could not do extractions there (which wasn't noted on their website or google reviews) =/ They did do the x-rays though, and come to find out there is a wisdom tooth that has got to go.

In the morning I have to call around to find a oral surgeon the next town over that takes my insurance (there is absolutely none in the town I live in. Every single oral surgeon in my town is cash only it looks like, lol) and hope it isn't one of those "one month out" appointment type of deals.

Can vouch that tooth pain is indeed true suffering. Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

Hope this gets fixed quickly.

Look into emergency dental offices. There's some that are 24 hours. I had an impacted wisdom tooth get infected and causing 10/10 pain where nothing was working. I found one office that got me in same day and had the tooth pulled within only hours. Didn't break the bank either. I was weird that my dentist was a 6'3 guy who was jacked, but was very precise and didn't cause any pain either during the operation.

Oh yeah that absolutely sucks. The pain is so bad you can't concentrate on anything. I had to get that tooth removed before the infection spread further.

I had a real bad one once, legit tried SO many things, the only thing that gave me temporary relief was putting Hydrogen Peroxide on a Q-Tip and dabbing it on my tooth nearly eliminated the pain for 15-20 mins at a time. Need to constantly reapply, but it's worth trying. It worked for me so well.

All the other stuff they suggest, like Orajel, clove, did little to nothing for me.

Serious, try Peroxide.

Never tried it but my mom would take a shot of liquor and just contort her mouth/tounge so thr alcohol stayed over the tooth and held it for awhile. Nothing says you gotta drink the shot.

My dad was a scumbag and he told me once when I was a baby and I was teething he'd rub whiskey on my gums and i'd stop crying and sleep for a while.

While this is fucked up, it is also a thing they would do normally way back in the day. Of course, assuming you're around 30-40 and your dad is about ~25 years older, prevailing health info around the time should've been enough to know that he was doing damage.

Yeah, the pain from when I cracked my tooth and the nerves were exposed was probably the second most miserable and painful thing I've ever experienced.
