When asked if she thought playing the games was a waste of time by the interviewer, She exclaims "No!" She stated You need to respect the source material and they gave her a great appreciation for when she first put on the vault suit and the Pip-Boy.

Such a breath of fresh air after hearing how so many different projects just want to seem to use the source material as their aesthetic and use the IP to draw views. In addition to how a lot of people working on the projects seem to actively dislike it.

I think I'll actually give the show a shot now that I know there's some soul in it.

And from her comments it seems like the co-star played them too so it seems like multiple people are actually experiencing the source material.

Even if all they played was Fallout 4 thatd be fine I guess but would prefer 3 or Vegas.

I mean, that's cool and all, but I'd prefer the writers/directors/producers played the games. The actress doesn't have much pull (likely any) in how the series is presented outside of course her own performance.

Usually I have a hard time disassociating myself from the source material when adaptations are made in different media but I'm 4 episodes in on this and I think it's pretty good.

True though if multiple cast members enjoyed the source material you can see a reflected in their work. I hope I'm going to see some passionate acting.

Saw a "X answers most googled questions" with her, Goggins and the BoS actorwhere she confirmed doing so. But she has only really put some time into FO4 so far.

I feel like sometimes gamers tend to gatekeep a bit too much. Like when Chris Pratt admitted he never really played modern Mario or anything, but he did play the original arcade game, and he said "I remember stompin' Koopas at the laundromat." And people tried to "Well ackshually they were Shellcreepers." It's like... Dude, he already admitted to only BARELY playing Mario, and you're still trying to gatekeep him because he didn't the things that looked like Koopas weren't actually Koopas?

Pick your battles better.

This should be the norm when acting on an adaptation. Read the book, comic or play the game. Dont have to finish them, just try.

Only seen the first episode, but so far I like what I'm seeing.

I mean you're always going to find somebody like that on the internet, It's a massive place. But there's a big difference between that and showrunners having contempt for the source material, actively breaking lore right and left, etc.

Also Mario, really? It's not even a heavily narrative driven game. The protagonist doesn't even speak, playing the games would not have even done Chris Pratt any good. There's no lore or really any backstory to learn. Dude just had to enthusiastically yell wahoo!
