It baffles me how people can still support both the Catholic church and the Republican party. The same people screech about drag queens and trans folk like they're a bunch of predators, but ignore things like this.

And with how much right leaning politicians protect abusers and rapists, it makes me think they're all into this sort of thing. If this country wasn't a complete joke they'd all be investigated and most likely imprisoned for various crimes.

It's because they already hate trans people and drag queens they're just looking for a justification

So, the court's issue is that it violated their right to due process by allowing the statute of limitations to be extended to 2024.

But that's bogus because they filed this suit all the way back in 2018. So now they're just not allowed to be brought to justice because the case got dragged out?

Adding to the arson and murder there's a bit of jaywalking too.

Lying and not to mention that treating themselves as above others is in False Idol territory.

Yeah conservative being hypocrites. Shocker.

yeah I dont see how increasing the statute of limitations for these kind of crimes in unconstitutional

this will probably go up to a higher court

Does this establish precedence based on anything outside of timeframe matters?

From what I can find in the article, it's got less to do with the defendant and more the filing proceedings and timing.

Don't get me wrong, fuck 'em and fuck their atavistic bullshit, just want to be sure I'm following the legal part properly.

Ok this sounds indefensible but also the article notes that the Colorado SC has made a similar decision and afaik that isnt right leaning, is it?

to be clear I dont think a technicality is a good reason to toss this law

Is it the Catholic Church? Or just "Christians?" And no, I'm not even trying to make this an argument of semantics. Because saying it's the Catholic Church implies European sects are like this.

The second part I absolutely agree with though.

So because they can't plead that the statute of limitations has run its course, they have no means to defend themselves and thus it would be a violation of due process?

It isn't like the law was going to just throw them in prison for any (errant) accusation. It just allowed the victims to file suit.

The Catholic Church knowingly moves abusive priests around to different parishes to hide evidence of abuse and so they don't go to jail. I only call them out here because it's about Catholic priests. Many protestant churches have similar issues too.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parish_transfers_of_abusive_Catholic_priests

While looking that up, I found this too. It's related.

Lol, my dude I am probably already on several law enforcement watch lists. The Saint Louis PD likes to keep an eye on people who are involved in protests against them.
