Is it anything like being poked with a needle to draw blood over and over? Because I could tolerate that.

My wife, who has a very low pain tolerance, had no difficulty getting her first tattoo a few years back. So I can't imagine it's too bad.

I have a full back tattoo and both arms are mostly covered. I have spent a good amount of hours getting it done.

It is absolutely nothing like getting blood drawn. In fact I highly dislike getting blood drawn despite not having any issues with shots/vaccines or getting tattoos.

To me the process would honestly almost put me to sleep at times. It felt like a deep scratch with warmth to it. After about 2 hours it can start to get annoying but usually after a multi-hour sessions most artists will stop.

Only certain areas I found sensitive like on my back tattoo working right on the spine was sensitive and on the backside of my arms. All in all not really a big deal.

Depends on where you're getting it, but it's honestly not bad on like an upper arm or something a bit more meaty. On something where it's very lean or close to a bone or something, it's gonna be a bit more rough, especially depending on how detailed / large you're going.

It can depend entirely where you get it, and how your pain tolerance is, which is why it's hard for people to describe.

tbf I kinda like needles, but the last time I had bloodwork done the nurse missed the vein and jabbed it in there several times quickly and that kinda hurt, but even I could tolerate THAT

I've heard people describe it as having a hot needle dragged across your skin or having a cat knead on the area.

A cat kneading on your arm is way more painful. I didn't feel pain until the last hour. By then I had been sitting there for 4 hours except to stand up twice to stretch my legs.

I have had that happen. I hate that. A tattoo is far less than that experience.

I'd say they doubted you because you're a blatant alt, and blatant alts typically make topics about things that never actually apply to them.

I mean, c'mon. You're an almost year old alt with barely enough karma to even post here.

It is NOTHING LIKE having blood drawn or getting a shot, it's much more shallow, and obviously super repetitive.

I'd definitely recommend getting your first one done on something more meaty, like an upper arm or thigh - and then figuring shit out from there. But, obviously, as I mentioned, I would probably think pretty hard about what you want and where, rather than just getting a bunch of dumb, and likely trendy, bullshit.

Zelda is a super easy series to get a cool tattoo from without it seeming really weird. Stuff like the Tri-force, Master Sword, etc., are simple enough designs that you can get a tattoo of it, explain what it's from, and nobody will bat an eye, because... Hell, they're just cool designs.

Its not. Having a nurse dig in your arm multiple times to find an artery is way worse than getting a tattoo. Youll probably find the process pretty pleasurable.

Like said, and others have iterated, it ultimately comes down to where you get it, and how involved it is. A small, simple tattoo in a more "meaty" place won't hurt much at all. A more involved, complicated tattoo, especially in a place that has less meat and is closer to the bone, may be a substantial amount more painful.

I've only got one tat on my inner forearm of text.

My experience wasn't bad at all. It felt like a hot knife dragging across my skin, on the precipice of drawing blood but just not having enough pressure to do it.

The closer it got to my elbow joint, the stronger the sensation. Ultimately, it wasn't that bad. 4 out of 10 level of pain.

Apparently they use different needles depending on what you get. As mine was text, the guy used a fine needle. If you're getting something big or lots of colouring is needed, they use a bigger needle. From what I've heard, the pain on that isn't too bad either. Really depends on where you're getting it
