Former Attorney General Bill Barr on Wednesday denounced former President Trumps exhortation for Congress to kill the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) as crazy and reckless and warned there will be blood on peoples hands if the intelligence communitys surveillance authority expires and theres a terrorist attack on the United States.

First Trump tells Congressional Republicans to kill the border bill because he wants to campaign on "Biden's open borders." Then he tells Congressional Republicans to kill funding for Ukraine because he wants Russia to win their war. Now he's telling Congressional Republicans to kill an espionage bill that enables us to keep tabs on adversaries like Russia.

This man, a private citizen facing 91 felony counts, is dictating the actions of one half of the United States Congress. Speaker Johnson will be meeting with him in person tomorrow, and he'll either swear fealty or MTG will be given the green light to vacate.

It was horrible that Trump signed the re-authorization for FISA when he was President, I wish it was against his personal interests back then.

Pretty much agree w/ this. Trump is terrible, in virtually every way, but sometimes good things do line up for this.

I do not see how any of these issues are sabotaging the country.

Plus, many of those companies have plenty of capability to still produce things for civilian purposes, or would still be able to make stuff for the military on a smaller scale.

Also, to act like this is somehow a big deal when capitalism displaces people from their jobs everyday is silly. Companies will make record profits, give their execs massive bonuses, and then lay off thousands of employees.

Putin is a dictator who kills or imprisons his political rivals. If he doesn't have that kind of ambition, why start with Ukraine? Let me tell you why. It is the largest former state of the former USSR that split off without UN protections. Why do you think Belarus is joining the attacks to Ukraine? Russia is bulling them saying if they don't help Russia, they are coming after them next. Which they will anyways along with the rest of the Eastern Block.

Even if you believe that, tossing some money / old planes or whatever at them isn't gonna help. It's a completely waste of time, money, and effort.
