Agree, I really liked it
i agree too

But I'd add that "Decent" is still a step down from Mass Effect 1 -3

For me it was simply too buggy to play well. I normally don't mind bugs, but when they are so frequent I lose my patience.

I didn't really get any bugs beyond animation glitches that never bothered me too much.

Most of my peeves were story complaints but once you get passed them and ignore the fact it's supposedly a sequel to the trilogy, the actual game by itself is fun if a bit bland. I loved the ending sequence.

It's one of my favorites from that era, tbh. The soundtrack is amazing; it's the same dude from HAL who makes the Kirby music, but it's gothic horror. The elemental system is pretty cool as you can toggle your helper spirit midcombat. But, yes, it can suck to be deep in a dungeon and have an ally die and it's immediate Game Over.

Similarly, I started Legend of the Dragoon for the first time (on my PS5). And holy balls, this game is slow. Between menu lag and combat animations it's one of those "god I wish I was on an emulator at 120 fps" games, much like FF6. Which is very annoying because trying to time attacks at 120 FPS also sounds terrible.

Only 2ish hours in and just rescued Magical Love Interest Girl. Not fully hooked yet but I can see the appeal.

What sucks is the game is grindy and not just for exp but for gold. You start with literally nothing but 500 gold. When new people join you they start with nothing too. That Axs guy joined me in the middle of the fucking Ice Maze dungeon and he had shit. Had to warp back into town to buy him equipment for him to do any damage. If not for map guides I'd already quit this game.

Yes, if they want to re-release these games two QoL features are needed for me to replay them

  1. Fast forward or turbo button
  2. Save states

Hardspace: Shipbreaker is one of my favorite chill-out games. It's about systematically dismantling abandoned spaceships and putting the right parts in the right receptacle. Only flaw is that there's unskippable sections where some character blabs away about "corporations bad" and you can't do anything productive, even check your email. Thankfully, there's also a free-play section that's just about the dismantling.
