It absolutely does. My Switch has 32 gigs of storage, and I have a 64 GB SD card alongside that, and I'm STILL constantly rotating which games I have on the console whenever I want to play something.

You'd think 96 GB would be enough for a console that's half-handheld (for reference, I believe the largest games for 3DS were Ultra Sun/Moon, at nearly 4 GB) but here we are.

My only concern is whenever I reinstall a game it asks me to install it on the same SD card that it originally was installed to.

So if I get a new SD card I'm afraid that'll fuck something up. At this point I'm committed.

That said, if I ever need to get another Switch, I fully intend on investing in maximum storage from the getgo.

Microwaving it will free up a few gigs

I had 32 64 128 and now 256 and all I had to do was reinstall to the new sd I didnt even delete the files on the 32gb one that i dont use anymore it still has random Mario kart 1.3 files or something I never had any problems

You should've bought a 456GB SD card like me. I still have over a 150GBs left.

Hmm. Perhaps I'll look into that then, once I'm in a situation where I feel slightly more financially comfortable. Which could take a while...

I bought a 256gb card but will probably never use all of it. Have 64gb of it if you want, TC.

You can also use 1tb cards. I think you can use 2tb too. But those are very expensive

I have a 1 TB microSD in mine, but thats only because I got a better 1 TB for the Steam Deck and demoted the older one to the Switch. I will literally never play anything but Nintendo first parties on the Switch with the sole exception of Monster Hunter Rise, which a friend drug me into, so 256 GB for $30 would have been plenty Id say.
