It's usually a couple of days. I guess they're just going through the orders ahead of mine?

On Amazon?

I guess they do have their "Amazon Basics" brand but I assume they just commission those from an existing manufacturer and keep a bunch in the warehouse.

Order gets sent to warehouse. Warehouse sends out employees to pick or, the bots get systemically ordered to pick in a sequence that makes the most sense. It then gets transferred to the sorting belt. Items are then hand picked and placed into boxes. Items are confirmed for their transportation system with the delivery service. Goes to another belt to be packed on a skid. Once all the items are stacked, they are wrapped by a mechanical device. They are then placed on the loading dock. The pick up truck is usually doing a route unless dedicated. They come twice in a day, so depending on when your order was waiting on a dock. They place the skids into their truck for their next destination. This confirmation goes to the system as shipped. The truck drives off.
