I saw a tik tok about a pregnant wife making fun of her husband cause he was pretty nervous about getting blood drawn.

The comments had people saying he should grow up, and that his behavior was unattractive

I have a full back tattoo and I'm a pretty good sized guy. My arms are covered in tattoos both sides. I have zero issues getting shots but I don't like getting my blood drawn either. *shrugs*

Of course not. Phobias are phobias, be it needles, spiders, heights, whatever.

I have a phobia of falling so severe that I get nervous using a step ladder, of all things. Meanwhile, my brother can climb ladders like nothing, but he hates getting shots of any kind because he's just irrationally afraid of needles. Meanwhile, I used to hate needles, but I got used to them because my damn thyroid basically went "Girl, we gonna fuck you up," and now I get blood tests fairly frequently to make sure my thyroid medication is working at the current dosage.

Some people have an irrational phobia that is hard to overcome. A mature adult should learn to overcome it, especially when it's for their own / someone else's health. However other people need to be understanding too.

I think if you flat out refuse needles, that's childish. But if someone who has a hard time with needles is honestly doing their best to fight through it, you shouldn't mock them for it.

personally I hate when people giving me shots make a big deal about it. I have high pain tolerance and a shot is basically nothing.

If i absolutely have to get a shot I will take it, but needles do terrify me.

Its a very specific type of pain that im horribly sensitive to. Getting blood drawn especially is one of my least favorite feelings.

Literally the only part of a shot/blood draw/whatever that I feel is when the needle is entering. Once it's in me, move it around, I don't care, I can't feel it. This is important, because my veins suck and love to roll, so often times, the person drawing my blood will be like "Oh god, I missed, can I move the needle?" and I'm just like "Do it, I don't care, find that vein!"

My mother finds this crazy, since she insists she barely feels the initial puncture, but if they have to move the needle once in, that's when she feels it, and she hates it.

People are different.

People can't control what they are scared of, so no. I am not scared of needles though and kind of like them.
