i bought a new monitor for SF6 on PS5 because the monitor was capable of 120 HZ which is tournament standard

did not realize the monitor had no internal speakers so i bought some cheap $20 speakers just to hear sound

the thing is though while there is sound, it's not very loud and the same cheap speakers output higher volume on my older monitor. at this point i've just lived with it but with other games i'd like to hear the game better

so if i got more expensive higher quality speakers would it even make a difference? is the low volume just inherent with the monitor itself and there's basically nothing i can do? i'm a noob at this stuff btw as you can tell

You gotta spend at least 500 dollars on good studio monitors and run them through a 1000 dollar dac amp setup to get passable audio

The Audioquest Dragonfly is a great DAC for less than $200.

not sure how i would use this, the speakers are either powered by a USB in the back of my PS5 or a USB to outlet converter but i plug in an aux cord from the speakers into the monitor's audio or headphone jack or whatever

let me know if there's a step or something missing that enables me to use something like this
