What's the most over you've gone, CE?

I forget the exact posted speed limit for the highway but I hit ~108 mph in El Paso late at night with no other traffic. Probably posted speed limit was 60 or 65. so 45ish over

I topped out at that because I was driving a Chevy HHR and it was shaking harder than Nicki Manaj twerks

Probably about 85 in a 65 zone on the highway. I don't believe I ever went faster, and I don't do that often.

I went 95 in a 60 zone once when I was running late AF

But I've also probably hit 45 or so in a 5 zone, which would be more.

Did this once to find the top end of my bike. Went 108 or so in a 65 when it was Covid highways & no one was out driving & there was a large straightaway lol

140 in a 100 zone (kph). Wasn't even intentional... road was straight with little traffic so it just happened. Fortunately didn't get pulled over.

Once as a teen, I raced my friend on a back country road. We hit 120 on the 55mph road so 65 over.
So so stupid and immediately regretted it that night.

Back when I was 18, I hit 100 mph on an empty highway (65 mph limit). My car started death wobbling though, so I slowed down and never did that again lol

70 in a 40 late at night, since there's never cops on the mountain on my way home at that time of night. Once I reach the top of the mountain, I just let myself coast the rest of the way down.

130 mph in a 65 mph. So 65 mph over. It was when I was in the military around 20 years old nearly 30 years ago. I was young and dumb.

For 20+ years now Ive settled down and only drive a consistent 4 to 9 mph over the speed limit these days.

Did you experience a traumatic accident or something? My oldest cousin (she's like 44) is still too afraid to learn to drive, because she was traumatized by being in a bad accident as a kid.

I have no problem driving, but I've never been in an accident *knock on wood* and I've been driving for 19 years now

I've done 65mph over the limit (135-140) a long time ago. Had a rental Camry going through Wyoming. I could see about 5 miles each way.

The signs said they use plane surveillance for that stretch of interstate.

Definitely have done 100 mph going downhill on a highway, it's almost difficult not to unless you ride your brakes the whole time. Other than that, I try to cap myself at 15 over.

Had a new car and wanted to test out how fast it could go.

It's been so long not really sure. First car was a 76 Buick Skylark. There's a long stretch of road going to the main highway. I know it was a good bit more than the speed limit. Sadly that area has been developed now, with grocery store and strip malls. In 30 years a lot can change.

as a rule I keep my speeds 10km/h (20km/h if bad weather) under the speed limit or just on the speed limit at absolute most under best possible conditions, in urban areas I keep with the flow as long as it doesn't go above the speed limit or the weather conditions are bad, I always keep it safe as first priority

Speed limits are km/h here. I did 160 in a 100 once, but mostly as a "let's see how fast I can get this old car going" thing on a long straight high-quality road with no other vehicles around at the time.

Under normal conditions, I might go 100ish in areas where the limit has recently been reduced to 70 or 80 without a good reason, but otherwise I stick within 10k of the limit.

I went 90-95 ish on a highway that was 65 (I think.) I speed all the time, but usually in the 'safe' zone of about 8-10 miles over the limit where you never get pulled over.
