Really? A lot of those guys are loaded AF. I had assumed this had been done a number of times before.

But I guess it says on music alone and a lot of them probably get endorsement deals and stuff.

I read the PopCrave thing as "her performances + songs have earned 1 billion dollars alone" not that she just broke $1billion and had no other assets.

They do. Rihanna in particular was the last person in music to become a billionaire but that was years after getting out of music and creating a beauty/make up line. Jay Z before that, but that was after he went corporate and became CEO of a record label and other business dealings.

It's tough to tell because it's a tweet with no article, and while everything that gets put on Twitter without any source is obviously always true, she's not the first artist to have made a billion on their music so it couldn't be that either:
