(not that Rowling is off the hook, but I feel that Jenner tends to get a free pass for some reason)

I guess Jenner gets a "pass" around here because she's kind of a nobody. Like, she's a former athlete with family ties to the Kardashians or something? Meanwhile, Rowling is easily one of the most successful authors of our time, with her name and her work known worldwide. Jenner just can't replicate that kind of reach, so even if she shares all the same nasty opinions, she's not going to get them to nearly as many people. Plus, Rowling has chosen to basically revolve her entire existence around actively fighting against trans rights, so she has a larger quantity of ugly comments to deride her for.

All that to say, I also disagree with the premise of your topic. Rowling is worse because she can spread her hate much farther.

I've never seen anyone give Jenner a pass around here. Every time her name is mentioned, it definitely isn't to talk about what a great person she is.

Jenner is basically a traitor to her own people. That's worse absolutely.

That does not mean Rowling isn't pretty damn horrible, though.

She wasn't drunk, just using her phone, which depending on what she was doing with it might have been worse.

Not that this has anything to do with this but its always eye opening for me when people really dont know who she was previously or just loosely associate her with the Kardashians. Its just a reminder of the age gap around me and that Im an old fart.

When she was known to the world as Bruce Jenner and was a world class decathlon athlete she was like an all American hero in the late 70s and that image permeated through for quite awhile for those of us who are older.

Disagree. Rowling is and always has been far more influential than Jenner. Jenner's managed to tank her reputation by taking increasingly right-wing stances and being seen as 'nasty' while Rowling has somehow held on to her image as a 'reasonable liberal' among most of the general public. That's something I think is being slowly lost but Rowling still remains much better liked.

There's also a lot of people who are just willing to look past it all because of HP. Jenner hasn't contributed anything that anyone cares about except for some gold medals that most people don't even remember.

It isn't worse, it's the same. Saying someone is morally worse because they're trans isn't reasonable at all, and I don't think saying racial minorities who are racist are worse than racists who benefit from racism would go over well.

Except that isn't the entirety of what I said. I specifically said a trans individual who is bigoted against other trans individuals is worse. It wasn't just a blanket statement.
Sure, it's all just degrees of horrible in the end, but I feel like someone who has transitioned/is transitioning has a more unique perspective on what other trans individuals may be going through/experiencing, and that personal experience should give them the capacity to be more compassionate and supportive, (certainly moreso than just some random ignorant clowns who hate on someone because the Faux Entertainment Network, or their local politician, told them to).

She most definitely is a traitor to other trans people, and that's horrible in its own right, but... as someone who actually is trans, I still think Rowling is worse simply because she's far more influential. She could use her voice to push for acceptance, but she only pushes hatred.

I would guess she is probably some flavor of transmed / truscum. Theyre a pretty toxic subset of the trans community and hold various transphobic beliefs, dont believe in gender, pronouns, nonbinary people, etc or that only people who fully transition and conform to cishet normative ideals are real trans people

Jenner seems to go way beyond transmed though. Like even among transmed they're not usually out there advocating for Republicans.
