No. It does feel way too familiar to me that it still feels like BotW (and I think I prefer that one), but the amount of content and features is still a worth it for a full game.

No, but it shouldn't have been $70 either.

Deny.

It's really it's own game. The only gripe I have is:

The Sage ability activation sucks in comparison to BotW.

No DLC, which is just odd to me for Nintendo to choose this. The Depths and Sky Islands had so much wasted potential.

The item menu. They definitely could have made the menu to find items a lil more intuitive. Instead of endless scrolling.

Less love went into some of the side characters and quests. Way less love than BotW got.

Still love the game, but the above are definitely some of my concerns if you will.

Adding onto this, I feel that for shooting arrows, you shouldn't have to keep fusing the same item over and over again. The fusion should stay until I want to fuse with another material. It was so annoying fusing a bomb flower, then fusing another bomb flower, then fusing yet another bomb flower. Just let me shoot bomb flowers until I want to shoot something else.

No game shouldn't be. Not in the nineties and not today. Though that's what New Games costs back then.

it should have, because it didn't really need to be a new game. it didn't really add enough new to justify being what it was.

i get that it added a full game's worth of content, but when that "new content" largely took place in a rehashed world, and the "new" map was just the old map inverted and colored purple it feels a little lacking imo

You think all indie and phone games should be $70?

I'm conflicted. The game on it's own has enough content to justify a full release. When taking Breath of the Wild into account however, so much of the game is just a repeat. Did we really need Korok Seeds to be a thing again, or over a hundred shrines where so many of them have nothing of substance?

D, anyone that says TotK could've been a DLC is either a hater, a moron, or both.

And note, that's not a statement that you have to have liked it, but it was a massive game all on its own.

Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.

You think so? I thought TotK's sidequests and NPCs were way better. There were fewer "bring me 30 mushrooms" quests and more actual things to do. Hateno's election quests, reclaiming and rebuilding Lurelin, Pokemon Snapping for Kilton. There were more Rauru's Blessings shrines than I would have liked, but the quests involving helping characters were generally more interesting and more endearing than I remember from BotW.

I could be nitpicking.

Thats not to say all of the TotK quests sucked or anything. But I felt like BotW quests gave more lore or easter eggs than TotK.

Mostly due to the wasted potential of the Sky Islands and especially the Depths. I was hoping for a dlc or 2, but Nintendo quickly shut that hope down.

Not bashing the game itself though, as I hope Nintendo continues with this style.

Interesting. It's been several years since I played BotW, so maybe I just don't remember the good quests. I just remember being pleasantly surprised by all the character interactions in TotK. And a little disappointed by the main quest and story instead lol.

Yeah they really coulda done more with the new regions. They added extra layers to the world just to pack most of the actual content into the already existing map. But whatever, I had fun anyway.

Because I dont like BOTW or any of the games in said genre and despite it selling well I would rather have had something else. Thats bad business, but good selling games dont do much for me if I dont like them.

If ToTK was a DLC, at the price Nintendo did BoTW's DLC we would've spent like 200+ dollars on it.

So no, obviously not.

Confirm. Same map. Could have easily have been DLC. Adding the underground area, new mechanics, and shorten up the story considerably would have made it DLC. Probably a better story too.

Its kind of what Mario Galaxy 2 was. The concept was just too big and creative for a single game.

Im saying its bad business to do what I wanted, but that them making money from something I dislike still doesnt do anything for me.

When you want DLC to be longer then the main game what's the point of DLC anymore? Just make it its own game.
