Man back in my xbox 360 days the method butt-blasted dudes used to get you banned (not permanently. Like a 48 hour type of thing) was for them to get all their fellow butt-blasted buddies to give you a negative reputation hit. Me, my friends, and my brother all got hit with a 48 hour live ban at some point because of our reputation score being in the toilet via very upset gears of war series players.

I know this topic is a different issue, but just reminiscing about dumb xbox bans.

Yeah the reputation system was dumb

First of all Xbox needs to drop this complete nonsense enforcement system. It's one of the worst systems imaginable.

Step one. Change this nonsense where "support" has zero interaction with the enforcement team. This is just SUCH a bad way to do business. It basically says "We at Microsoft could under no circumstances EVER make a mistake". People have had their accounts for like 20 years at this point with thousands of dollars of purchases attached to it. To lose access would be seriously BS.

Step two. None of this AI trash.

People always want to act like people are lying when they tell stories about this stuff but a good portion of it is true.

I received a com ban once for saying the word "jail". Obviously some automated weird AI thing.

Another time someone told me to "put a bullet in your head". I was being nice and said to him you know how stupid it is to say that? I could basically get you banned instantly but I won't. His response was to just mass report everything I had said. INSTANTLY in the same 10 seconds I was comm banned. I can't even remember what it was it was so light. Something about them teabagging?

Xbox would deny this but they also ignore any report you make after you get in trouble. Of course, I reported his comment after. Nothing happened. Xbox even TELLS the other person their report resulted in action. Isn't that silly? So he then bragged for 2 days sending messages I can't respond to about getting my a com ban. I wasn't going to block him. I wanted to see if I could report him for spamming me. Again, nothing.

So modern Xbox. Don't use voice if you might accidentally say "damn". Don't use text messaging at all. Honestly you're not safe in a party of friends if one of them decides to be a moron and report you for saying something.

That zone thing needs to come back in some form or another. Let adults say what the want outside of BLATANT racism and hate speech.

uh oh. i gotten one of those hateful messages over the strategy that i like to play in fall guys

i reported it and then they got actioned (though they probably gotten a warning) it just pushes them closer to getting a day's ban at best.

i might end up retiring from that game. maybe come back for the ps5 version until i complete it then done with it.

Lmao man just winning even if the group you are playing with stay in party chat a lot would do that, that system was busted from creation.

My squad wasn't the greatest in the world, but our cross-lancer or hammerburst and actual communication game was still on point in gears of war 3. Used to light dudes up like a christmas tree and the rage was something else.

I am pretty sure the gears series alone with a bit of left 4 dead 1 and 2 versus was the responsible ones for tanking my reputation score since I didn't play series like halo nowhere near in comparison. My best friend had his score trashed just from beating so much ass on ultimate mortal kombat 3. He even had a hate thread dedicated to him on this mortal kombat fan-site for the time period, lol.
