Want to be more mainstream instead of original with my play through by giving the "proper" materia to each person.

Cloud - Soldier and main character so HP UP, Assess, Precision Defense for perfect guarding and the like. Only kept Lightning on him for offensive magic.

Aerith - Magic everywhere and MP Up whenever possible.

Tifa - Luck Up since she's fast enough for those extra crits to really add up.

Barret - Luck Up for the same reason as before. Provoke as he's the Tank of the group. Heal even though his MP is shit cause why not?

really struggling with Yuffie. Cait and red XIII in particular I got no idea how to use properly since they're far more complex in battle then the rest of the crew so I'm just kind of throwing whatever on all 3 of them and keeping them in the back.

Yuffie and Red are my dps/atb battery. Yuffie is especially good because you don't need to put elemental materia on her to pressure an enemy with an elemental weakness and red is good for bosses where you need to block a lot. In both cases though, their real primary role is build up ATB as quickly as possible to cast prayer as often as possible while linked to an AP up materia so I can get it to max level as early in the game as possible.

Tifas unbridled strenght raising the lvel of the triangle ability is the fastest way to raise the stagger % when theyre enemies are staggered.
