Do you?

It doesn't necessarily have to be a paper towel, just a cover of some sort

UNLESS YOUR PAPER TOWEL states it's microwavable, please do not put it in the microwave, it's a MASSIVE FIRE RISK, Guys.

Paper towels and even waxed paper may contain minute metal flecks.
When a microwave oven is operating, the interaction between microwaves and the metal can cause sparks and even flames.

I clean the microwave once a week at my work and it baffles me that no one else seems to give a damn about all the shit splattered everywhere in there. I clean it because I use it to heat up my food and can't stand it getting dirty but it seriously annoys me.

I work with a group of people I generally like but its obvious they are used to having their wives clean up everything because they are fucking pigs. It is absolutely inconsiderate, lazy, and just plain gross.

Just don't open the can first and you won't need the foil.

Nah.

I don't microwave anything that needs it. Soup goes on the stovetop, for example.

Am I the only one who just puts another plate upside down on top of the one the food's on? I've had one of those plastic covers that are explicitly made for the purpose in the past, but it eventually melted on me and I've avoided them since (plus I don't really like the idea of microwaving plastic in the first place - my plates are glass). I feel like using two plates also helps to keep most of the moisture from escaping, since it's a perfect fit, and it more or less works just as well if I put one on top of a bowl. I guess it might not work so well if your plates are especially shallow or you have a mountain of food, though.
