Which kinda goes along with the idea that... Being a good liar/"salesman" goes a long way. Maybe you are the hardest worker, maybe you aren't. I've actually been told by a career coach before that if I didn't have an answer for one of those "Tell me about a time when..." questions to just make something up. I didn't take that advice but I'm sure some people do.
Though for the job I have now I did spend time prepping for the interview. In addition to researching the company, I googled a list of interview questions I might get for the position I was applying for and spent hours going through and practicing how I would respond to them.
