One of the things that might be holding GameFAQs back is there doesn't really seem to be a lot of 13-17 year olds on here. To replace the older people who die, leave, etc. I honesty can't remember someone talked about graduating high school or going to prom.

It is unfortunate but that age range could even be up to early 20s since even college threads are a bit rare here.

This website is a relic and will never see relevance again.

I came here lowkey in 2015 as a 13 year old I didnt tell anyone i was that age though and I dont know if anyone realised how dumb and childish sounding my topics were looking back. Then again the fire emblem awakening boards WERE pretty childish so i think i blended in fine lmao. I abandoned that account out of embarrassment too even though no one really seemingly recognised my boring af old username which were my initials of my name

Great your anecdote could be mentioned in this thread but for a site to grow that needs to be happening every year. Which judging by that poll it might not be. So those younger/new people to replace those leaving must be going elsewhere.

Another thing that comes to mind is this site is kinda niche and you can't post porn. Reddit has a gaming sub plus other non-gaming stuff. They also have porn subs. So if you don't like one sub something else can be for you. Compared to GameFAQs if you don't like CE what other social boards are there.

The only reason I still come here specifically to this board is 100% because Reddit doesn't have an equivalency to my knowledge.

Reddit is mostly just full of separate echo chambers. And where that isn't the case, their format is god awful and you can't make heads or tails of what is going on. Which is part of why I think there are all those Reddit robot voice videos on YouTube just going thru threads.

This site is cool and has always been pretty aware. I like it more than reddit or Tik Tok because they make you feel separate from the posters and creators while the message board format doesn't.
