Ive been thinking about trying again. I got the game a while ago but I gave up on it because the short days mixed with all the stuff you can do left me a little overwhelmed

I play on Switch, so when it releases for Switch I'm gonna start a new farm to take in all the new-ness.

What a time to be alive.

I started up a new save in a week ago in anticipation of the update. I havent played in about 5 years so Im going to get reacquainted with the game and shake off the rust, and then start a new farm when the update hits consoles.

Going to play it again when it's updated on Switch

I'm in winter, year 3. Been planting powder melons as I find them. Until they put out an update that makes the seeds buyable, I've been throwing lowest quality ones into the seed maker. At least I did with the broccoli. The melons haven't been harvested yet.

I found a carrot seed within my first in game week.

I absolutely do have to try this again. I have it on Steam and haven't played it in years. Just not sure when the right time would be. Maybe tmw depending how I feel.

Im circling around it. I just know that when I start a new farm, thats all Im going to want to do for a bit. Im super excited and want to really sink my teeth into the new content and get some old stuff Ive wanted to do.

I love Stardew Valley, I really do. But at the same time isn't he supposed to also be working on Haunted Chocolatier? If they are going to continue to bring out updates to Stardew, I wish that he would hire a team for Chocolatier so we actually get a proper release date.

Yeah I tried it for a bit and put it down. The short days are obnoxious

I feel like this genre never hooked me a la Harvest Moon even though I wanted to get into it. But something about Stardew really did make me give a damn about what I was doing even if I was often less than efficient.

This game also has a dungeon and all kinds of other things to do. It's not just farming. Fantastic game.

Waking up with the chickens to fire up a new run of this game. I slept a couple hours. Sounds like accurate farm life.

And dries pineapples ship for around 3,500. I'm estimating since I don't remember fully. Point being, make a bunch of dehydraters and rub your fruit them. Definitely gonna get more money out of it. Biggest downside is it takes 5 fruit to get it started. I'm building up some ancient fruit to see how much the dried version sells for.

Well shit, you get more for dried star fruits than ancient fruit. Kinda surprised by that

You shouldn't be. Star Fruit and its related products have always sold for more than Ancient Fruit. Ancient Fruit is more popular because it grows a new fruit every 7 days, and grows through both Summer and Fall. You basically get 8 harvests in a year, whereas Star Fruit will only get you 2 (assuming planting on the farm).

Edit: Looks like you can get a third crop out of Star Fruit using Speed-Gro and such. But it's still a one-season crop, is still less crop than AF, and you have to re-plant for each harvest.

Anyone thinking of starting a new farm: The riverlands farm now comes with a free fish smoker, which doubles the value of any fish, and quality levels are taken into account. Otherwise, you have to jump through a couple hoops to get one.

The meadowlands farm also comes with a coop and two chickens, and with how easy it is to unlock and build mayonnaise makers, you can get a good operation going early.

I got ancient fruit and star gem berries going in my greenhouse. Still get quite a bit shipping the ancient fruit as is

Oh yeah, anyone else got a green rain day in summer? That was pretty wild. Got a shit ton of moss out of it though. Also that damn raccoon in cindersnap is needy fucker. Got him wanting radish juice and pickled summer squash.

Yeah, I loved how the rest of the town reacted to it. I'm getting close to Winter and should have the green house before the end of the year 1.

Just started year 5. I got enough golden walnuts to get Qi's door opened and just paid the parrot for the rest of them.
