I love that one of them is just a Sandworm. Yeah probably as a reference to the Mongolian death worm Cryptid and or Dune but still just a giant Worm. Which is pure One Piece mix in the silly with the frightening.

My theory: the ship will use its blast to go kilometers away while the power source for the island is removed, causing it to plummet and cause untold destruction to the Marines. Or Kuma paw-paws the ship away to similar effect.

I doubt Shanks would be able to make it there since he was already on another location with Kidd.

Same with Blackbeard.

Another idea could be that the Straw Hat fleet shows up which would be pretty damn cool.

Dorry and Brogy were also there with Kidd (they're the ones who actually destroyed his ship), so if they could make it Shanks can too. Especially with his tendency to appear spontaneously like at Marineford and Wano.

Although I would really prefer for Dragon and/or the Grand Fleet to show up instead, and they just rendezvous with Shanks in Elbaf.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the Demon Warthog did absolutely nothing this chapter.

Also, interesting how Saturn is so small compared to the rest of them.

I suppose but that feels like bullshit because I don't feel like Shanks would suddenly rush in that direction nor make it in that length of time. It would make it feel like the sea isn't as big as it is. Unless there was a day or two since they've been on Egghead. I haven't been reading so I don't know but from what I remember, this all started when Lucci showed up and this was only after they met the real Vegapunk. That's sorta where I stopped but have been reading snippets each week.

Not the worm. While the others have Yokai names the worm just translates as "SandWurm" but that's Oda for us, he creates a pattern then subverts it.

ah okay. I haven't read any of the chapters so I wasn't aware and just had read the spoilers and rundowns. I'm curious now as well lol

The main question is how do you hurt them? Cause luffy has done crap to Saturn at full power, so all five are for sure is not possible.

This will be an escape ending, with everyone getting their final power ups in preparation for fighting the elders.

At this point I'm fairly certain that Shanks has some way of tracking Luffy and knowing when he's in the greatest danger. This isn't the first time that Shanks' intervention has directly helped him:

• Marineford, right after Ace's death, when the Marines gained the upper hand again. Shanks appears out of nowhere to stop the war.
• Wano, when everybody was injured and resting up after the fight, Shanks uses his Haki from sea to tell the new Admiral to leave them alone.
• And now here on Egghead, the Giant Pirates show up unexpectedly to back up the Straw Hats and help them escape, presumably under Shanks' orders.

If Shanks does have a way of tracking Luffy like that (since this is definitely more advanced and in-depth knowledge than a Vivre Card would give), it absolutely has to be related to the straw hat he gave him. And if he has a reason to track him, it has to be because he knew the true identity of the Devil Fruit that Luffy ate.

Dorry and Brogy were able to decapitate the Sandworm (albeit it's obviously going to be temporary and he's going to grow a new head), so I think the Giants themselves exist as a counter, and that's why they're so gung-ho about wiping out / subjugating the Buccaneers who carry Giant blood. It would also provide another reason for Shanks to send the Giant Pirates as a rescue team rather than going himself.

That would be interesting. I've been thinking for a while now that it's not actually pre-recorded at all, since the only Vegapunks we see in it are the ones who have died; Stella, Shaka, and Pythagoras. It's possible that when they died, their consciousnesses were uploaded and the "recording" is actually a live feed of the three of them continuing to exist somewhere within Egghead.

Shanks was likely going to show up. Why wouldn't he? But he wasn't across the ocean either. Not saying he's across the ocean now, I jsut figured that he was far enough of a distance that it would take a bit of time to get to where Luffy is.

I feel like other than Egghead, both of the instances that you brought up weren't necessarily about Luffy as it was just a coincidence that Luffy was there. Even if Luffy wasn't there, I feel that Shanks would have shown up, although I guess I have to concede to Wano since Luffy was the driving force of the rebellion.

As for being able to track him, I do like the idea of the straw hat having that connection. And the reason for him tracking Luffy would definitely be because of the devil fruit if he had the knowledge of the true form of said fruit.
