Looks just like Runescape. No attempt at even trying to hide that it's just the next Runescape game.

Also that HUD is awful. The backpack takes up too much space and the items within have pointless generic type icons and such making it difficult to see the quantity at a glance.

Spend countless hours leveling up mining and smithing high enough to be able to mine and process runite only for it to be quickly rendered worthless by equipment from enemy drops

Thems the memories I had from playing that back in 2001-04 or so. I think I played the 3D version for a year

Cant decide if this is better or worse than me spending hours fishing sharks just so I could go kill people and steal their rune ore

I'll give it a shot when it comes out, just cause.

The Wilderness was fun times

Still remember one time meeting someone I knew in HS (friend of a friend) in a large group out in the Wilderness that randomly killed me and took my stuff
It planted a seed of darkness in my heart, a true turning point in my life tbh

I'll give it a shot when it comes out because why not. Everything I ever read about Andrew Gower when I was young made him sound like a passionate dude who just had no interest in management. He wanted to step down but still have some creative control over Runescape but the corporate world gave him a hard reality check.

yeah Ill probably check it out too

even if they had some ambitions for the original RS I doubt they ever thought it would get the kind of international attention that it received

I just hope it isn't as grindy as RS
And that there's an actual reward or some usefulness gained from reaching high skill levels if those are still a thing

Way back in original RS I had a naked guy who obviously must have been quitting attack me one day. Thought he just dropped junk at first, but it was like 4 million in gold and a couple party hats and 1000+ chaos and death runes. I was set for life after that one kill, never had to mine or fish again

I joined just after the party hat stuff. A friend of mine in school had a party hat, not sure what he wound up doing with it

Your post reminded me of all those drop parties. I went to a couple but never got anything
