I've worked for plenty of bosses I didn't like it. At the end of the day it's about making that money. At my last job I was even offered to switch shifts. I hated my boss but I denied that offer cause we made more money on night shift. Plus a few other reasons.

Possibly illegal, depends on how large the place was. Equal employment things require at least 15 full time employees before you are bound by them.

the most important part is that it's only illegal because she explicitly stated that was her intention. all she'd have to do is shut up and say "oh, I hadn't noticed", and there would probably be no case unless there was something else documented to prove it. that's how so many companies have gotten away with hiring 90+% white people for the last 20+ years

Stating that you will specifically not hire white people is something entirely different. I dont doubt that certain devs are also racist and skip over people of color, but this person is racist too.

Are we going to talk about why she felt it necessary to create a team with no white people on the team? Is it because the video game industry itself might be super racist? Is it because racist white nerds get all threatened whenever they see anyone on a team that's black?

You can talk about how theres racism in this industry and any other and youll probably be right. Racism that she might well have been a victim of. Nobody seems to be disputing that.
