why is that? am I really that ugly??? why? this is gonna make me feel bad for the next however long it takes for another girl to smile at me (average of once every few years. could be more often but I try to look away from people when given the chance (usually))

wait do you really think so?
because a month ago, she also smiled at me. and maybe waved too. idk, I was overcome with stress and anxiety so the details are blurry. same with 7 weeks ago, also smiled at me.
but I usually run away when I see her. today I was like "I'll go in with confidence and not run away" but then my confidence was kicked to the curb and I am in a downward spiral.
I've actually thought of doing the cold approach thing and saying "hi" and then maybe asking her out. but now I don't want to.

I'm starting to feel lukewarm about that cold approach thing...

That's easy TC. The smile was politeness. It almost always is nothing more than that and you shouldn't take any meaning from it. People smile at each other all the time, even if you're ugly someone will smile at you.

The disgust, that was her true feelings. It may not even have been disgust but it's clear you did something that she didn't like, you should stop doing that thing. But it probably has nothing to do with your ugliness, take it from an ugly person. People see ugly people all the time, they're not going to feel disgusted unless said ugly person does something and they then associate ugly with the bad thing.

Probably not all you did but generally you want to avoid this. I notice some shop workers really hate it when customers are around when they're stocking. It may not even have anything to do with you. Maybe she hates stocking and doesn't realize her face shows it.
