I see so many people being an absolute asshole and they clearly don't regret doing it and they do whatever they want with no consequences as long as it isn't breaking actual laws.

And I think, man I wish I could be like that. But there's this thing called guilt that haunts me like a mf and instead I'm stuck being nasty and bitter but utterly powerless. And it does suck cause there's always someone putting me down and I can't clap back, I gotta keep it under control and the stress is killing me but at least I'm not being a meanie amiright? Ugh.

Why not push yourself up to have your guilt be a positive thing? It makes you who you are, its not about who does what its about what you do. If thats them, fine. If youre you, even better. Just dont miss out on things because of your feelings because thats no longer singular guilt.

Thats a mixture of other things. Shame. Confidence. Your own self-efficacy. If some jackass has it, surely you deserve it, no? Its not bad to stand up for yourself and its not even bad to be greedy. Mix them up both tbh.

If its the last bagel and you want it, have it. Its yours. You can split it if you want. Hell, you can even ask for half of it if someone already got to it first. Why not? Youre hungry. If they want to be weird about it, put yourself up first then.

You'd think so but reality isn't so simple. Sure if someone is literally trying to hurt you, you want to defend yourself. But an asshole isn't gonna do something that could get them in trouble with the law. No they'll hurt you just enough that they can pretend they're the victim if someone finds out of shift blame some other way.

Same. Life would be so much easier if I didn't care about everyone around me. Honestly, I feel like I care more for them than I do myself. I'll always sacrifice my own needs and happiness for the convenience of others.

It is never worth being an a-hole. Occasionally you need to be an a-hole in very specific situations, but as a general rule? Nah.
