You're supposed to use ground coffee, then use a reusable cup that you just compost the grounds you've used, then rinse & reuse.

More or less. The system is different, though. You have these baggies instead of little disposable drip filters. It doesn't have any third party packets, but some of the machines will do lattes and stuff.

You don't need filters or paper though for a reusable Keurig cup, so technically it's even more environmentally friendly than a traditional coffee maker. I use two little purple cups that I just put grounds in & nothing else, dump that in compost, basically no waste.
