We have a Chinese friend who doesn't even know Japanese yet and is getting an interview with Amazon Japan as a programmer. So depending on your abilities you might be fine either way. My wife programmed for Nittetsu and now JA, but she needed Japanese for both (though she also worked at the Wuhan branch of Nittetsu when she was stuck there during the lockdown). I think Nittetsu is a really good company though.
